Which Injectable Filler is Best for Specific Areas of My Face?
Injectable cosmetic procedures have been the greatest advancement in cosmetic surgery since the 1990’s. Treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers have revolutionized the way we treat our patients. Given the wide variety of injectables to choose from, it is challenging for the patient to know which procedure is best for her or him.
During your consultation, Dr. Jess Prischmann will use her extensive experience to determine which filler is best for your concerns and needs. If fillers are not your best option, she will give you her honest opinion and rely on her surgical expertise to guide you on making the best decision.
Upper Face
Signs of aging and volume loss in the upper areas of the face can be addressed with a number of options. For muscular lines and wrinkles, Dr. Prischmann uses BOTOX® and Dysport®. For volume loss around the eyes, Dr. Prischmann generally prefers Restylane®. It is critical that patients understand that NO FILLER is FDA-approved for use around the eyes, meaning that studies have not been evaluated for safety in this sensitive area. Dr. Prischmann will educate and inform you about the pros and cons of filler injections around the eyes. She feels that patients need to have the proper information to make an informed choice..

Mid-Face and Lower Face
A variety of dermal fillers have shown to create beautiful results for patients looking to enhance the middle and lower areas of the face. Dr. Prischmann feels very strongly that a good midfacial injection can transform a face. She also feels strongly that the result should look natural. For the cheeks, Dr. Prischmann uses JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, Restylane® Lyft, and Sculptra® Aesthetic. If a patient is nervous about cheek injections, she will sometimes use Restylane®.
For lines around the mouth, she uses Restylane®, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, or Restylane® Silk. During your consultation, she will help you decide which injectable is best for you.
Lips
For Dr. Prischmann, lips are an area of particular expertise. Sometimes, patients desire very subtle enhancement… sometimes, they are looking for a voluptuous result… and often, they desire something in between.
Dr. Prischmann will spend time during your consultation learning about YOUR goals for lip enhancement. After evaluating your needs, she will recommend the best product (she often uses Restylane® Silk, JUVÉDERM®, or Restylane® in this area). She also is very skilled at making the process as painless as possible, often using dental blocks so patients feel no pain during the actual injection.
Sculptra® Aesthetic
A word about Sculptra® Aesthetic: This product is in a class of its own. Excellent for global volume enhancement, Sculptra® Aesthetic also has the benefit of stimulating your own collagen.
