Minneapolis Facial Plastic Surgeon Explains Benefits of Facial Oils on CBS Affiliate WCCO

Dr. Jess Prischmann was recently featured on CBS station WCCO discussing the advantages of using oils to improve skin’s appearance.

Minneapolis, MN — According to Dr. Jess Prischmann, a facial plastic surgeon in the Minneapolis and Edina area, using oils as a skin care treatment is new to Americans, but it is a method that has been used in many other countries, such as China and India, for centuries. In a recent WCCO CBS-Minnesota news segment, Dr. Prischmann says, “In this culture, for the most part, we focus on things that strip oils from the skin. We want ‘oil-free’ things, but in other cultures all over the world, people are using oils on a daily basis.”

Dr. Prischmann says oils naturally occur in our skin, and even if you have oily skin, treating it with facial oils can be beneficial. In the WCCO interview, she explains using facial oils can balance an oily complexion, whereas stripping oils from the skin with excessive washing and exfoliation can actually cause the opposite reaction. Recommending natural oils, such as sesame seed oil, coconut oil, and sunflower oil, she reminds individuals to avoid using synthetic oils, as they may cause breakouts.

At her facial plastic surgery practice, Dr. Prischmann offers a variety of skin care products that she has personally selected. Among these products are the Rejouvenance and Niche skin care lines, oil-based skin care products from Turks and Caicos and Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Prischmann personally selected these products and is among the first to bring them to the United States’ market.

Dr. Prischmann says these products can be found exclusively at her practice. “Oils help your skin look more radiant, and radiant skin looks younger,” she says.

Rejouvenance is a line of coconut oil, which can be used as a way to hydrate skin all over the body, including the face. The line also includes a chemical-free bug repellent, which Dr. Prischmann says is an excellent natural alternative to bug sprays.

Other than the oil-based products, Dr. Prischmann says her practice offers a variety of other skin care products, as well as non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures. She explains that she has carefully selected all of the products used in her office, ensuring their quality and effectiveness of treating several skin conditions, such as Eczema, Acne, Psoriasis, and Hyperpigmentation.
