Can I Afford Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, which may also be called nose surgery or a “nose job,” is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the nation. If you are considering enhancing the shape, symmetry, or function of your nose, chances are you have thought about the cost of the procedure. While insurance can sometimes cover the cost of the procedure, many rhinoplasties are not eligible for insurance coverage. That is why we have tried to answer some common questions you may have about the cost of a cosmetic rhinoplasty.

The cost of rhinoplasty will be determined by the total of several independent fees. Typically, fees are based upon four factors: 1) The cost of the facility 2) the cost of the anesthesia team 3) the surgeon’s fee 4) any applicable taxes. While the surgeon’s fee is typically fixed, the facility and anesthesia fees can sometimes be variable. In other words, if your actual procedure runs shorter or longer than the estimated time, you may be entitled to a refund or be responsible for additional charges, respectively.

It is always a good idea to thoroughly review surgical quotes, so that you know exactly what each number represents. Ask the question, “Are there any additional fees that are not included in this estimate?” That way you can make sure you are financially prepared prior to the surgery.

According to recent statistics, the average cost of rhinoplasty is around five thousand dollars, but this number doesn’t include additional fees, as mentioned above. It is also important to keep in mind the surgeon’s fee can vary depending on his or her level of experience, geographic region, and other considerations. You should always seek out a surgeon who is board certified, understands your goals, and offers you a customized procedure that suits your anatomic needs.

At our practice, we offer financing options to help you bring rhinoplasty into your budget. All cosmetic surgery procedures are paid in full prior to surgery. In addition to credit cards and cash, we also work with CareCredit®, a reputable lending institution that offers low monthly payment plans for qualified applicants.
